Help bring back The Inventors

On Tuesday the 2nd of August 2011, it was announced that the Australian Broadcasting Corporation would no longer produce the long-running innovation program, The New Inventors.

The Inventors has been a part of Australian culture for over forty years. The last time it was cancelled the show was off-air for nearly twenty-five years.

Since 2004, Australian audiences have seen more than 900 inventions presented on program, by real Australian inventors. There are hundreds of success stories, and more to come.

Yet there are still hundreds of inventors awaiting the opportunity to present their inventions, and hundreds more still who may never get the chance if the program remains in the wilderness.

Please consider writing a letter to Mark Scott (Managing Director of the ABC), to your local Federal or State MP, or one of those suggested in this blog.

Note this: the program was brought back in 2004 because of a groundswell of public support. The ABC is duty bound to read and respond to letters from the public.

I encourage you to support Australian innovation.

Nicholas
